The Cincinnati Bengals are limping into Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Granted, Giovani Bernard is finally back practicing on a limited basis and Billy Price and John Ross are full-go. But Thursday’s report overall doesn’t bode well:
The Bengals still can’t get key defenders like Vontaze Burfict and Darqueze Dennard back on the field. And outside of A.J. Green, the attack will miss starting tight end Tyler Eifert.
Perhaps most notable, Josh Malone just popped up on the injury report for the first time after suffering a setback. It’s a huge, huge loss considering Green is already out. If he can’t go, that means Ross, Tyler Boyd and a tandem of Alex Erickson and Cody Core will be all the Bengals have at the position while trying to keep up with Drew Brees. It could also pave the way for some Auden Tate looks.
